Nikhil R. Pal is a Professor in the Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute. His current research interest includes brain science, computational intelligence, machine learning and data mining.
He was the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems for the period January 2005-December 2010. He has served/been serving on the editorial /advisory board/ steering committee of several journals including the International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, Applied Soft Computing, International Journal of Neural Systems, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems and the IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics.
He is a recipient of the 2015 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Fuzzy Systems Pioneer Award, He has given many plenary/keynote speeches in different premier international conferences in the area of computational intelligence. He has served as the General Chair, Program Chair, and co-Program chair of several conferences. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE CIS (2010-2012, 2016-2018.) and was a member of the Administrative Committee of the IEEE CIS (2010-2012). He has served as the Vice-President for Publications of the IEEE CIS (2013-2016). He is the President-Elect 2017 of the IEEE CIS.
He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, Indian National Academy of Engineering, Indian National Science Academy, International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA), The World Academy of Sciences, and a Fellow of the IEEE, USA.

Pau-Choo (Julia) Chung (S’89-M’91-SM’02-F’08) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University, USA, in 1991. She then joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in 1991 and has become a full professor in 1996.
She served as the Head of Department of Electrical Engineering(2011-2014), the Director of Institute of Computer and Communication Engineering (2008-2011), the Vice Dean of College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (2011), the Director of the Center for Research of E-life Digital Technology (2005-2008), and the Director of Electrical Laboratory (2005-2008), NCKU. She was elected Distinguished Professor of NCKU in 2005 and received the Distinguished Professor Award of Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering in 2012. She also served as Program Director of Intelligent Computing Division, Ministry of Science and Technology (2012-2014), Taiwan. Currently she serves the Director General of the Department of Information and Technology Education at Ministry of Education, Taiwan.
Dr. Chung served as the Chair of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) (2004-2005) Tainan Chapter, two terms of ADCOM member of CIS Society (2009-2011, 2012-2014), the Chair of CIS Distinguished Lecturer Program (2012-2013), and the Chair of Women in Computational Intelligence (2014). She is a Member of Phi Tau Phi honor society and is an IEEE Fellow since 2008. Currently she serves as the Vice President for Members Activities of CIS.

Ponnuthurai Nagaratnam Suganthan received Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge, UK (with full Scholarship & several prizes) in 1990. He received PhD on Neural Networks-based Pattern Recognition.
After completing his PhD research in 1995, he served as a pre-doctoral Research Assistant in the Dept of Electrical Engineering, University of Sydney in 1995–96 and a lecturer in the Dept of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, University of Queensland in 1996–99. He moved to NTU in 1999.He has (co-)authored 350+ journal/conference articles and technical reports which have attracted over 26000 Googlescholar citations. He was selected as one of the highly cited researchers in computer science by Thomson Reuters in 2015, 2016 and 2017. He has delivered over 35 keynote-tutorial-invited talks in many countries. He served as the General Chair of IEEE Symposia Series on Computational Intelligence-2013 which attracted over 1000 submissions.
He is the founding co-editor-in-chief of “Swarm and Evolutionary Computation” Journal (Elsevier). He has been serving as an associate editor of IEEE Trans on Evol. Comp., IEEE Trans on Cybernetics, Information Sciences (Elsevier) & Pattern Recognition (Elsevier). He is also an editorial board member of the Evolutionary Computation Journal (MIT Press). He won the IEEE Trans on Evol. Comp.outstanding paper award in 2012 (co-authors: Drs Alex Kai Qin & Vicky Ling Huang). He is a fellow of the IEEE.

Dr. Mahardhika Pratama received his PhD degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2014. He completed his PhD in 2.5 years with a special approval of the UNSW higher degree committee due to his outstanding PhD research achievement.
Dr. Pratama is a faculty member at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He worked as a lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and IT, La Trobe University from 2015 till 2017. Prior to joining La Trobe University, he was with the Centre of Quantum Computation and Intelligent System, University of Technology, Sydney as a postdoctoral research fellow of Australian Research Council Discovery Project. Dr. Pratama received various competitive research awards in the past 5 years, namely the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award in 2011, the UNSW high impact publication award in 2013 and 2014.
Dr. Pratama has produced over 64 high-quality papers in journals and conferences and edited one book, and has been invited to deliver keynote speeches in international conferences. Dr. Pratama has led five special sessions and two special issues in prestigious conferences and journals. He currently serves as an editor in-chief of International Journal of Business Intelligence and Data Mining and a consultant at Lifebytes, Australia. Dr. Pratama is a member of IEEE, IEEE Computational Intelligent Society (CIS) and IEEE System, Man and Cybernetic Society (SMCS), and Indonesian Soft Computing Society (ISC-INA). His research interests involve machine learning, computational intelligent, evolutionary computation, fuzzy logic, neural network and evolving adaptive systems.

Edwin Lughofer received his PhD-degree from the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) in 2005. He is currently Key Researcher with the Fuzzy Logic Laboratorium Linz / Department of Knowledge-Based Mathematical Systems (JKU) in the Softwarepark Hagenberg, see www.flll.jku.at/staff/edwin/.
He has participated in several basic and applied research projects on European and national level, with a specific focus on topics of Industry 4.0 and FoF (Factories of the Future). He has published around 180 publications in the fields of evolving fuzzy systems, machine learning and vision, data stream mining, chemometrics, active learning, classification and clustering, fault detection and diagnosis, quality control, predictive maintenance, including 70 journals papers in SCI-expanded impact journals, a monograph on ’Evolving Fuzzy Systems’ (Springer) and an edited book on ’Learning in Non-stationary Environments’ (Springer). In sum, his publications received 3260 references achieving an h-index of 33.
He is associate editor of the international journals IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Evolving Systems, Information Fusion, Soft Computing and Complex and Intelligent Systems, the general chair of the IEEE Conference on EAIS 2014 in Linz, the publication chair of IEEE EAIS 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, the publication chair of the 3rd INNS Conference on Big Data and Deep Learning 2018, and the Area chair of the FUZZ-IEEE 2015 conference in Istanbul. He co-organized around 10 special issues and more than 20 special sessions in international journals and conferences. In 2006 he received the best paper award at the International Symposium on Evolving Fuzzy Systems, in 2013 the best paper award at the IFAC conference in Manufacturing Modeling, Management and Control (800 participants) and in 2016 the best paper award at the IEEE Intelligent Systems Conference.

Savitha Ramasamy obtained her PhD from the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Nanyang Technological University in 2011. Her PhD thesis on developing learning algorithms for complex-valued neural networks, was nominated for the IEEE CIS best thesis award in 2012.
These learning algorithms have been applied for applications including medical diagnosis and video analytics. As a post-doctoral research fellow in the School of Computer Engineering between Oct 2010 and Mar 2013, she has been involved in mimicking the human meta-cognition to ANNs. She has more than 50 paper published in several international conferences and journals, including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Neural Computation and Elsevier Neural Networks.
Currently, she is a Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore, and has been developing data analytics solutions for healthcare and advanced manufacturing and engineering applications in the capacity of Co-Investigator and Principal Investigator. She is also the founding member of the DL2.0 team in I2R, A*STAR, Singapore.

Dr. Mukesh Prasad received the M.S. degree from the School of Computer and Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, in 2009. After receiving the M.S. degree, he worked as a software engineer for a year, New Delhi, India.
Afterward, he pursued my Doctoral degree with the Department of Computer Science, National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) and was awarded my Ph.D. degree in 2015. After my Ph.D. degree, he joined as Postdoctoral fellow (PDF) at NCTU. After successful completion of PDF, he joined as a principle engineer (R&D;) with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Hsinchu, Taiwan and worked till Feb. 2017. He started his academic career as Lecturer with University of Technology Sydney in March 2017 and became a core member of Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI).
He has made substantial contributions to the field of machine learning and image processing, with 41 research articles (20 published/accepted) in top journals including IEEE Transactions and SCI/SCEI Journals and 21 conference papers. His current research interests include data analytics, machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, fuzzy systems, neural networks, artificial intelligence and brain computer interface.
